Please consider making a charitable donation.

As a charitable organization, the Wimberley Community Civic Club is being hit hard by cancellations of our fundraising events. Unfortunately, the needs of our community remain the same.

Our events have been staples here for decades. However, the most significant impact is on the students who depend on our scholarships and the nonprofits who depend on our donations. Last year we distributed $24,000 in scholarships to students at Wimberley High School and Kathryn Ann Porter School. We also gave out $39,750 to local nonprofits (click here to see the list of organizations we donated to last year).

We are asking you to donate if you can so we can still meet those needs and help us fulfill our commitment to the community. And remember, every dollar you donate is considered a charitable, tax deductible donation.

Thank you for your consideration of our request and know that we are here for you.

We are in this together!

WCCC 2019-2020 in Review

Civic Club started out the year with the theme:   Together…For our Community

We had an interesting year from our September meeting making comfort totes for children in need to a virtual Zoom general meeting in May when the new 2020-2021 board is introduced and voted on.

Various speakers joined us at our meetings including Ken Strange who shared with us progress of the new EMS building.  Home Tour was well attended and the rain didn’t slow anyone down.  Rebecca Minnick hosted a Holiday Party in December for members and we hosted a Christmas party for Deer Creek residents.  In January, Spring Events committee gave us a prelude to what we’d have to look forward to.  In February projectART brought supplies and we had fun making Valentines to donate to Deer Creek.

And then Covid-19 arrived so unfortunately Talk of the Town events including Crawfish Boil, Wine Walk and Style Show and others had to be cancelled which gave us a bit of a shortfall. Many pre-sale ticket holders however, donated the cost of their ticket back to the club rather than take a refund.  In April we had an online auction with items from the Style Show.  It was a great success and we were able to carry out our mission of giving back to the community in this time of need.

Many thanks to the members, volunteers and friends who worked creatively and tirelessly to raise money throughout the year for our local non-profits and high school senior scholarships.

The Civic Club Legend

In the spring of 1979, a group of women in the area recognized the need to reach out and meet the newcomers to our rapidly growing community. The Wimberley Community Civic Club was organized.

The purpose of the Civic Club is "to nurture a strong community spirit through service and financial support while fostering lasting friendships among the members."

Membership is open to all Wimberley area residents. We urge all newcomers to join or let us know you are here, come to a meeting, and then decide if you would like to join our group to help make Wimberley a better place to live.
